They are not open today and have a sign in the door that says closed for Holiday Weekend. Anyone in the know on if they are done?

It seems not, they are probably just closed for the holiday weekend.

I was surprised to see Magpie cafe on Perkins closed on Black Friday. Makes no sense to me.

I hope so
The one in Lafayette didn't last too long either. I'm surprised the Freddy's are still open as well, too expensive for underwhelming fast food.

Got a burger there once. Only once. It was not good. Too many good burger options to go back.

For QSRs, I used to think they offered a better product than Mooyah, Five Guys, etc.
I've changed my mind. The thin cut fries, that at one time used to be very good, are no more.
The burger sucked.
What sucked worse? The lack of training provided to the employee working the cash register. My food arrived before I could finish my payment. I stood at the register for over 10 minutes while the employee was on the phone with his supervisor, trying to figure out how to process a debit card payment. He repeated this behavior immediately with another customer as well, but managed to shorten the time.
One can easily tell this place is on borrowed time. Lunch crowd, based upon my observation, was minimal. And it appears as if you can fill out an application, you can be hired here.
If you're not going to have a superior product when compared to your competition, you better have phenomenal customer service --- and they don't. It's a bad combination.

Been three times. There was nothing remotely quick about Freddy’s service. Liked the food though.

Picked up a burger from Freddy's in the drive thru once and it was good. Decided to go back and went inside. That place was filthy. I didn't even order I just turned around and walked out. This was in Lafayette.

Burger's are good and their concrete's are fantastic.
Of course, we need a fricking Steak and Shake in BR.
Not fat, used to be, will likely be again someday.
