how is it?

I think it's the best poboy in BR. I have to come in town at least twice a week and try to go to Dempsey's on one of those occasions. I always get it when they have it as a special.

It's fricking Dempsey's. I dont care how much ball washing it gets on this board. It's okay. Go to J. Alexander's for a better sandwhich and better service.

By far the best, they usually have jambalaya as a side that day. It's a deadly combo

Yes it's Dempseys, of course j. Alexander's is probably going to be better. Your comparing fine dining to a sandwhich shop

The prime rib poboy at Sammy's is better, IMO.

I'm saying that the experiences at these restaurants are completely different

Dempsey's is a "sandwhich" shop? Not according to many here.

Better than Dempsey's no doubt. Not netter than J. Alexander's. Which is a real prime rib.

No doubt about that. One has consistently great food and service. The other is Dempsey's.

I don't get the jazz about Dempseys gumbo. It was decent and I would order again, but certainly not the best in BR.

Uncle O's was much better. Still and all, any gumbo from a restaurant just won't compare to what you make at home.
FTR, I have no problem with Dempsey's. It serves its purpose. But the love fest around here lately is just silly.

I've always given Dempsey's lots of props on this board, but I agree with you about the gumbo..It's just ok IMO.
The prime rib poboy, is it a special? If yes, what day and is it at both locations? Their jambalaya leaves too much of an aftertaste IMO, and Dempsey's world famous french fries are not made for human consumption.
Does Dempsey's have any hot short chicks working at the Jefferson location?

Can't believe no one has dropped a "cup and a half!!!" in here yet

IMO, Dempseys is one of the most overrated, if not THE most overrated, restaurants on this board. The place is the epitome of the word AVERAGE.
