I live around the corner from Dempsey's and have eaten there many times, I find it OK, but I have never understood it's big popularity. First of all, they use that mushy, soft, big hot dog bun, Baton Rouge bread for their po-boys. That alone is unacceptable.

Why do the people of BR accept such inferior, tasteless bread for their po-boys? Maybe that is a subject for another post.

I don't care if it comes from Paris, it is not crisp N.O. style po-boy bread. I'm not saying it is a bad place, I just avoid the po-boys.

There is no debate, BR settles for inferior po-boy bread. BR also allows restaurants to use Manda's roast beef for po-boys, that is just nasty crap. It saves restaurants a lot of money because it is so much cheaper than cooking their own. If I order a RB po-boy and they bring me that nasty Manda's garbage I send it right back.

Gugich, good to hear. Me and the fellow App fans ejoyed our meals before the game. Food was great and the place looked nice. The wife and I had to hit it again Sat after the game. Our trip got cut short and the game stunk, but Dempsey's was a bright spot. I still need that shirt. Hope everyone in the area made it through the storm well.

I had the mushroom and swiss burger the other week and it was lights out, good job.

To anyone looking for a good burger, all they do is 1/2 pound burgers, need I say anymore?
