Tried the nocturnum and started off liking it, but by the end I didn't like it at all. Way too strong and I could really start to taste the alcohol about mid way through the bottle.

Mix it with some lambics... Lindemans does a few different ones.

Sorry to hear that. Those beers (as with many belgian strongs) are beers that I have to have with food or after dinner for a night cap. Something to balance out the alcohol sharpness. Either that or share them in a tasting.
