Folks, I'm ready for the downvotes. But, for the first time in my life I defrosted chicken breasts in the microwave and cooked them (to make chicken parm sandwhiches). The texture of the chicken was better than that of fresh chicken, and I am shitting you not. What has your experience been with defrosted chicken in the fricking microwave?

Why do you have to use such language for your post?

I guess it's just the way I talk in real life. Perhaps I should cut down on it, but it seems to emphasize the points I try to make when I am communicating with others? Hope it doesn't offend, I guess it does, and maybe that's why I do it. Good question...

Are you employed? How old are you?

I don’t have good results with microwave defrosting of frozen meats other than maybe smoked meats.

I never have either, which is why I started the thread. Maybe I've been missing out on something?

defrosting chicken in the microwave is a crapshoot. You have to use very low power, turn over the chicken iceberg frequently, and you still might end up with a slightly overcooked pointy end or thinner spot.

I just defrost in the fridge. Works fine if you remember to put it there 24 hrs before you want to use it.

Just buy a George Foreman grill and put that frozen brick on it to cook. Better than a microwave.

Move it to the fridge a day before or defrost it under cold running water.
