I've never seen Deanie's on Iberville discussed here, it is worth a mention. Wife and I just spent a weekend out in NO, this is a stand out favorite for fried seafood, anywhere. I was surprised because it seems very toursity. We received comically huge, Instagram worthy plates of exceptional fried seafood. I got the Combo (shrimp, oysters, catfish) and she had the stuffed shrimp. Place was jam-packed with both locals and tourists, and we had to stand in line for about 30 minutes on a Saturday around 7PM to get in. They unfortunately don't do reservations. They're struggling with service like everywhere else, but it was passable and we left a generous tip for encouragement. FOH manager was on his game and made up for the trainees. Very good all around, I would eat again.

They have a location in Bucktown that I plan on visiting again during my end-of-year break. Similar pictures of the food we had in the link below.

For a lunch spot check out P&G on Baronne. Best fried catfish in the Metro area IMHO. Plus good potato salad and Mac n cheese.

My wife used to work with a guy whose family owned or managed the place. I went once and thought it was pretty good. It’s a tourist trap, but it all tasted good. (I’m a sucker for fried seafood)

I'm a sucker for fried seafood too. It's in the Quarter so by definition is a tourist trap, but the food was surprisingly good and an exceptional value. If this existed around BTR I'd eat there weekly and weigh 300 lbs.

Watched the 2010 Super Bowl at Deanie's Bucktown. What a great experience.
