Anybody got a good recipe?
Somebody post grandmas recipe.
If you never heard the term, it's basically a beef roast, slow cooked in a tomato sauce.

Daube I found something, but I'm not prepared to do all the herbs and marinating this time. Might try it another time though. Looks really good.
I just basically cubed a chuck roast, seared it in a Dutch oven and now I'm slow cooking it in a tomato sauce. Should be real tender at dinner time.
Would like to see some old NOLA recipes for a good daube.

Damn. Thanks.
I searched the inter webs, but not NOLA.COM specifically.
Will check that out.

I pulled up a recipe for Frank Brigtsen's oyster rockefeller soup there earlier this week. It was in the recipes lost in Katrina section or something like that. Anyway, made me think about searching it for daube as I figured some recipes from local folks had to be there at some point. Otherwise, I might not have thought about it.

I found what I was looking for under "creole daube". Will try a traditional French daube soon.
