Crockpot or Instant Pot for red beans

My Crockpot after 15 years finally hit the dirt. Always would slow cook red beans for about 8 hours in it, then move to stovetop. I never used an Instant Pot...is one better than the other for beans?

Why did you do them in the crockpot AND the stove?

Depends on how much time you have to cook the beans. The end result is about the same

The good thing about the IP is you can just turn on the saute function to do that.

I was like you and so was skeptical of the IP. But the result from the IP ended up being the same as a slow cook. I do have to cook the beans longer than the IP guide book says...I think it says 45 minutes but I usually go an hour to 1:15.
