No mushroom concoction of any sort goes near my crawfish étouffée when I’m cooking it. Neither do tomatoes.

Twenty 49, I think this is the recipe she used.

Etoufee the Easy Way

Ingredients

1 stick butter
1 medium onion chopped
1 bunch green onions chopped
1 green bell pepper chopped

2 cans cream of mushroom soup
2 cans cream of celery soup
1 can tomato soup
½ teaspoon to 1 tablespoon of liquid crab boil for seasoning to taste
1 – 2 pounds crawfish or shrimp tails
Salt and pepper to taste

Sautee onions and green pepper in 1 stick butter. Stir in soups and seafood. Adding ½ teaspoon of the crab boil will be mild, one tablespoon will be very spicy, choose your spice level. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat and simmer for 20 – 30 minutes. Add salt and pepper to taste. Serve over rice. A variation of this would be to add crab meat to the etoufee. This is also a good topping for broiled fish.

Not really. Sometime when you have time search the term "Mother Sauces" Substitute bechamel for COM in your bean casserole....add fresh chopped mushrooms if you want.

In crawfish fettuccini yes. In etoufee, no. Why would you?

Piccadilly recipe uses golden cream of mushroom, and other cream of soups in it.

For use in emergencies only, but it is the Piccadilly recipe. Manager did not specify golden COM, but I would not doubt it is correct.
