Not a bad fest, but no where near what it was in the 80's and before. Bring your 10 bucks to get in. Probably some real good music. Go early or plan to waste a lot of time in traffic.

Bring chairs. Wide brim hats. Comfortable shoes. Cool clothing. Sun tan lotions if needed.

I haven't been since the early 90's. Went one year and it had moved to I guess a fairground area and didn't like it. When it was all out on the streets it was a great festival.
I bungee jumped from a crane over an asphalt parking lot. Yeah....I had a lot to drink. We had a motor home several years and man it was a great time. The food is really good.
Do they still have the la boucherie festival in St Martinville? That was a great one too. I miss going to all of those festivals.

Head down the bayou and go to the Thibodaux Firemans Fair instead. A way better festival in all aspects...unless you just want to eat sprinkled crawfish. Then by all means, go ahead. The Fireman's Fair has killer music all weekend too.

Weather look great for the weekend, no matter the outdoor activities you take up.
Sunny with a high of 79.
Can't beat that.....got to find some bisque.

Would you say they're... far behind?

I hope so. It makes for better quality at large events like this one. So much easier to control flavor.

If you are going for just the boiled crawfish don't... they are good but only he same vendor every year... but plenty of other good crawfish dishes. Saturday is the main day, it'll be pretty packed Saturday night especially since Keith frank and Wayne toups are playing at the same time this year.
