God forbid. No one should ever drink an IPA older than 30 days.
If the brewery sucks or is new to packaging their beer...then yeah. You really shouldn't. Recently bought a 4 pack of an IPA from a local brewer. The first can was great. The 2nd one was heavily oxidized. I chalk this up to still learning their system, though.

I like this brewery and they’re new so I’m not gonna put them on blast and call it out, but it seems to be a poor economic practice. It just shows how much the other crowlers are marked up too, even though some are exclusively in crowlers right now
Pretty sure i know who you are talking about. I noticed that too. I found it strange as well, considering the beer they canned was very fresh.

When I was at Tin Roof we had people come in all the time to get a growler of one of our flagships that they could just get in a 6-pack for a slightly less price. Significantly less if they had to buy the growler. I guess for some of them getting the growler itself was worth the extra cost, or they just liked the idea of getting "draft" beer instead of canned beer.
It was all likely from the same batch in the brewhouse.
And it certainly wasn't double the cost per ounce.

The only thing I can see is if you’re buying something not available in cans
This is the only situation where I buy crowlers.

I've never seen a place selling crowlers and cans of the same product. That seems bizarre.

It happens.
Not sure why this is a big deal tho. If peeps did not buy them, there would not be a market.
Urban South does both, just so I name a reference.

Consensus is nobody buys crowlers if cans are available. Glad we all agree. Wasn’t sure if I was missing something

You can get a crowler of anything on tap at the breweries here that offer crowlers. That almost always includes cans/bottles of beers for sale there. No idea how many people get a crowler of something available in a 4 or 6 pack though.
What kills me around here are the gas stations that do growler fills and they have Bud Light, Miller LIte, etc. Who the frick gets a growler of Miller Lite?

You bought Exit Velocity, also? Two of the four I had were undrinkable. Pretty annoying to pay $15 for basically a two pack.
