Who has been? I heard Keith Young took over and was wondering how it was. Man runs a great steakhouse right down the road and was hoping he could do something great with this location as well

Saw them on Restaurant Impossible last year. Not surprising they flopped. Dude was clueless.

Plus the name was just weird.

Coffees's used to be good but just got really bad and deserved to be closed. I plan on trying Crabby Shack tonight and will post a review soon after.

I started a thread about this a few weeks ago and did not get a single response. However, there was another one here last week that went a page or two.

I hear it is very good, Keith cooks himself, but there is no room for the amount of customers. I will wait a while to try it out.

Can you explain how that works? I've never been, but the name makes no sense to me.

Coffee's was on that show, correct? And that was under old managemant if so. This is a completely new restaurant in that location if I was told correctly. Sorry if that's what caused the confusion

You're probably being sarcastic but for those interested, from Wikipedia:

quote:

In 1965, divorced single mother Ruth Fertel, realizing she needed to earn more money to send her teenage sons to college, mortgaged her house to purchase the restaurant, ignoring the advice of her banker, lawyer, and friends, and despite knowing nothing about the restaurant business.[10] She initially planned to raise just $18,000 to cover the purchase price, until it was pointed out to her that she would need an additional $4,000 to cover the cost of renovations and food.[11] On her first day, May 24, 1965, she sold 35 steaks at $5 each.[12]

quote:

In early 1976, shortly after signing a new ten-year lease on the restaurant, a fire destroyed the building. Fertel had recently acquired a second property nearby to rent out as party space. Within seven days, she had relocated the restaurant to its new location a few blocks away at 711 Broad Street and re-opened it, expanding to 160 seats in the process.[12] The sales agreement with Matulich prevented her from using the original name at any other address, so she named the new restaurant Ruth's Chris Steak House in order to keep some continuity with the previous location.[15] She admitted later to Fortune Magazine that "I've always hated the name, but we've always managed to work around it."[

In-laws have eaten there twice and said it was great. Just a typical type of menu from a seafood restaurant.
