Where can I buy some around Baton Rouge/Gonzales area? The good salt kind like you can get in any eatery in Tennessee

I order from Burgers' smokehouse in California, Mo (Ozarks). I get the attic aged >210 days country hams. I like the vacuum packed slices which I freeze and use in beans. You can get whole, half, spiral sliced, etc. Pricey but excellent. Their bacon is great also.
Waffle House is the only place I know that serves real country ham but I don't know where to get uncooked. Rouse's sometimes carries some of Burgers' stuff.

I've seen them around the holidays in a few stores but this time of year you'll probably have to order. Try Kentucky Gun Co. Type ham into their search box.

Rouses can get it for you if not in stock. If you have a Winn-Dixie they have it. Cracker Barrel sells just the slices, you dont have to order it only to eat in house.

You can buy the whole ham online.

Mine had it all the time but WD closed the store and yes, you sure can buy whole from CB website as well as by the pound in their stores.
Good Luck!

It sounds like Cracker Barrel will have to do until you can order some Benton's online.
I think Costco can get one for you in two days if you can't wait two weeks for it to be delivered, but don't want to buy slices from Cracker Barrel.
Don't do that, though. Wait two weeks. Get Benton's. Getting a 20 pound box of delicious pig product at your front door is a fun day. Get a few pounds of his bacon, while you're at it if you like REALLY smoky bacon. I mean REALLY.

I agree with Benton’s. I order the bacon and was given a whole ham. Good stuff and worth it.
Here are a couple short videos on his place.

Thanks for the video. That bacon cooks down to make some good veggies.

If you watched that video, you saw how they package their 1 lb portions of bacon in those vacuum sealed bags.
I shite you not, you can smell the smoke from the bacon through those bags.

That's unintentionally funny, but a good suggestion. There's a good chance they'll have them.
