Went there this weekend. NELA is lucky to have a place like this.
The staff was nice, service was prompt. The music, lighting, etc. were all well done.
We had the blue crab appetizer. It was money....in fact the gnocchi they used made the dish special.
I have a freezer full of reds, trout and did not want fish....went with a ribeye. It was a perfect medium rare. The bearnaise sauce next to the steak was not needed. I do not believe is was a prime cut of beef...but is was good.
Fish items appeared to be the house specialty and I will get the fish special next time.
The steak came with fries - duck fat fries. Some time has been devoted to the development of these fries. Crisp, flavorful and fresh come to mind.
I had a buehler cab and it was a decent by the glass match with the steak.
I had some of the crawfish mac n cheese that was at the table. It was very nice...not as rich as I thought it would be.
Overall.....very nice restaurant for NELA and outside of New Orleans, probably one of the better restaurants in the state.

i don't have a clue, cept it's made with George Dickel which is my drink of choice. it kinda almost tastes like a whiskey sour, sort of, but smoother...
i do approve whole heartedly, though..
you from nela, with the johnny in a barrel costume?

I was in Monroe last week for work and went to Cotton with some coworkers. I got the trio of beef and it was great, perfect medium rare on all three pieces. The duck app was really good too.
