I am going to post this on both the travel and food boards to see if anyone has travelled to eat here:

HiR fine dining in the jungle

In addition can anyone recommend a fishing charter out of the Tamarindo area plus things to do. Going for a week with a few other couples.

Tamarindo is really cool. I stayed at the capitan suizo several years ago and fished with Go Fish Costa Rica. Not sure they're still there, but we caught a bunch of sailfish, mahi, and my dad got a 400lb blue marlin. Let me dig up some more info on eats and I'll get back to this.

looks like Go Fish CR is under new leadership. It's been probably 10 years since I went.

We stayed at Capitan Suizo also. Good restaurants are a short walk down the beach and the fine dining place (can’t remember the name) when you first come into town was awesome also. We loved it there.

Just be careful with the tide if you plan on walking down the beach. It rises and falls 8-9 feet at a time. When you wake up in the morning your a walk hundreds of yards into the bay and by afternoon the water is up to the grass if the houses with no beach. Badass surfing spot which is what is known for.

We fished on the Rhino Charger. Raised a striped marlin first thing that morning and nada for the rest of the day offshore. Ended up going near the rocks at the end of the of the day and caught a little tuna and a few Bonita. Can’t remember the owners name but he had some great stories and has a bad arse house.

“Go Fish Costa Rica”

I will be looking for someone who specializes in targeting Rooster Fish whenever I go back to CR. We were unable to catch one during my chartered trip last week. It’s high on my bucket list of fish that I want to catch.

Mister Bigfish, Rooster fish are pretty elusive and a few things must align when fishing for them, best time is usually at the start of our rains (May-Oct) but that's not to mean they can't be caught all year but you will have to fish certain areas such as the Catalina islands which is surrounded by islands and reefs, an area that is known to produce them. If coming down please check in first so I can see what the bite has been like.
Hope to perhaps get you out one day.

Yes, our good friends Peter and Chris started the company and we acquired it when they decided to return to the United States and continue working with a lot of non profit organizations such as CCA and Ducks Unlimited to name a couple and have lots of repeat clients from these organizations year after year and if you get a chance to return be sure to look us up.
