I really don't want to do this, but due to living in a new state and not having much choice, I'm frying a turkey tomorrow at work, but won't be eating it until Thursday. How would y'all recommend reheating? Low and slow to bring the bird temp up and then broil for a few minutes to recrisp a little?

This is a perfect situation for a steam oven or sous vide.

IDK if you have either, but each would gently reheat turkey without drying it out.

I'm getting a sous vide in the next couple weeks, but I won't have it by Thursday . I'm thinking I'll put it on a roasting rack with chicken broth and wrap it up for ~55 min at 275-300 and broil for 5-10

I wouldn't reheat past 130 or so. Gonna be dry as hell if you go above that.

Do you have any other choice such as oven roasting the day of?

Not really. I moved up here and didn't bring (forgot) my sous vide machine so I'm pretty much limited to my oven.

Hmm. Maybe wrap it up in well moistened paper towels and nuke it on the lowest setting a minute or two at a time until you get it just warm enough to enjoy? It's kind of the same idea as heating things like king crab through. Gentle steaming versus hard heat.

Not a Blind Link

I guess Copeland's sells fried turkeys out of their stores and this is what they recommend.

It'll be whole. I could just roast it and forego the fried and trying to reheat

Why are you opposed to cooking it in the oven?

I'm not, but I like it a lot better fried and it would be convenient for my buddy to do it at work so I can make a hunt Thursday.

This is fair to prefer when not reheating, but I feel like reheated fried turkey won’t be better than freshly roasted.
