Just run the water for a second. I always get regular diet coke and it tastes fine. I just run the water first.

Coke Zero w/lime 
I remember when they made Coke with lime, I loved it. Diet coke w/lime is gross AF though.
But since learning that not all of the additives are sugar free, and not having looked up what does or doesn't have sugar.. I've just taken to adding lime wedges into my coke zeroes at restaurants. Even better.

I'll take sugar over aspartame.
ETA: But I'm not knocking back half a gallon of cokes every day.
