Coca-cola baste for ribs

I have always heard Dr. Pepper is the drink to use for this because of the various flavors in it.

I’ve used Dr Pepper for spritz. Turned the ribs a nice color, but I couldn’t taste a difference. As far as basting goes, I usually take some Stubbs BBQ sauce and thin it out with some sort of cola, usually Coke, DP, or Barq’s, and I’ll slather a thin layer of that on my ribs about 30-45 minutes before I pull them.
