This was one of those deals where you were bummed about how it all happened, but ready for him to move on.

He looked bored on ATK. He says he's happy to be waking up doing what he's doing, so that's always good. Plus, $6 mil in start up, and more waiting, never hurts.

That new kitchen looks awesome.

I'm looking forward to whatever show he has. He didn't bother me. I don't know why because he was a pretty boring host. The kitchen does look awesome.

Y'all remember the story with these two? Didn't they meet doing ATK?

wish him the best of luck, I've learned how to make a ton of things at home that I wouldn't have otherwise. I could never make homemade pasta without a machine until I saw one of their episodes.

Yep. The article mentions it.

Mr. Kimball is building his venture with a small crew who followed him out of America’s Test Kitchen, chief among them Melissa Baldino, a former executive producer who was once his assistant. She married Mr. Kimball a year after he divorced his second wife in 2012.

I look forward to checking out whatever he does.

I'm a big fan of CI for basic technique instruction, great product reviews, kitchen tips, and (finally) recipes. The recipes come last because I have to jazz up the spice and flavors on most of them to suit me, but they are good starters.

Chris appears to be getting a little bolder on the recipes/approaches he will try to sell us. He's been big on Yotam Ottolenghi's recipes for years, often talking about them on ATK Radio, and it sounds like he is going in that direction. Should be interesting.

I confess I was never a fan of the printed mag and found him irritating on TV. That said, it seems a little funny to me that he plans to focus on cooking techniques from other cultures, as CI has historically been so damn weak when it comes to anything ethnic.

I never liked the notion the mag puts out that there's like 20 wrong ways to make something and ONE right way. I just hate approaching cooking like that.

That being said, I liked his show.
