Before I switched jobs last month, these bad boys were in the employee dining room. This was in both September and early October.

That's why I buy it fresh during crawfish season and freeze it myself so I know how old it is. If it's spoiled you can smell it right away.

If I remember right, and I will admit I might be wrong, but that orange organ keeps less than two weeks even when frozen.
Tell you what I find odd, when overseas, I held a crawfish boil and had some crawfish flown in from a neighboring island. Rice pond crawfish. (no OT brag, it was under 200 bucks delivered and washed for 8 sacks). The crawfish were pretty, the insides were orange rather than green, and they made a good boil and a few good etoufees and stews.
Good crawfish are available over there, we just never see them.

I'll never buy Chinese crawfish again. Both times I've cooked with it it was very fishy in smell and taste. Ruined the dish.

Hate to give Walmart any props, but I've seen LA crawfish, shrimp and crabmeat there. Haven't tried it yet but I would rather do without than buy Chinese

Walmart in McKinney has tails from Lafayette area so I always buy them.
