I don't like beans in my chili ever, and there are many cookoffs that prohibit the use of "fillers" like beans. Check the rules.

Well, that's how we originally made it, and we continue to do it the same way. Beans were added as filler by poor yankees who couldn't afford the amount of beef needed.

This one doesnt have any rules about beans. Its the second year so they havent gotten anything like that at this point. I'm still not convinced either way, so any more opinions are appreciated.

I googled chili cookoff winners. I looked at some winning recipes. None of the ones I saw had beans. There were some interesting twists in a few, though, but no beans.
