Make sure it’s not one of those many places that don’t put Dog in the Chili Dog

I’ve never ever heard of that.

Saw something on tv a couple years ago about chili buns. Seems like the place serving them was either in the Midwest or up North. May as well doctor the chili up and eat a Sloppy Joe.

Chili dog has to have the dog component.

You must be from New Iberia, there are several restaurants around here that have it on the menu that way.
Chili Dogs - bun and chili
Hot dog with chili - Bun, Weiner, chili as the Good Lord intended.

Washington Parish, but I know I’ve also come across exactly what you posted in St. Tammany and Tangipahoa, maybe it’s a country thing in the Florida Parishes.

I heard that Sonic uses Hormel chili with no bean on their dogs. I'm probably wrong

IDK how, or even why, y'all eat that diarrhea looking Hormel shite on your dogs.

Yeah, I'm a food snob. Come at me bro!

In. Here are mine: Nathan's beef franks, Ballpark buns, homemade chili, cheddar cheese, and onions.

That is about what mine look like as well. After I read this thread earlier I had a hankering for some chili dogs, but the only ground meat I had on hand was some lamb so I made chili out of it. It was delicious!
