Yeah it'd be cool to have a whataburger closer to campus but I'm just happy we have one here at all! I'm originally from Slidell and there is neither a jack in the box nor a whataburger anywhere near there.

Why doesn't baton rouge have a dairy queen?? Mandeville used to have one and they shut it down too.

Because teens who actively participate in Christian youth groups tend to be more courteous than those who don't.

Are you really that dense that you can't comprehend that concept?

That was the point. But a lot of people hold CFA's Christian values against them. I have heard them called racist & homophobic and lots of other names from those who label themselves as 'tolerant'.

I eat at Chick Fil A. I don't hold it against them. I don't know anyone that does. The only real issue I ever notice people bringing up is that they violate federal employment laws. Considering they've been sued before and have had to settle (improperly firing non-Christians), it's clear that they violated federal law in the past. They can successfully skirt federal law with respect to franchise operators, but can't with employees.

If you want to argue the merits of the 1964 Civil Rights Act with respect to employment discrimination, that's a whole different discussion to start.

I support their attempt to hire people who reflect their values. As a business owner I can tell you it is hard to find good people who can do the job, my work force is very diverse, not because I cared about diversity, that's just what I hired to get the job done.

The key words are good people, it is a lot more than technical ability, they have to reflect your values, it shows in customer relations, honesty, work ethic.

I have also been to many EEOC employer workshops, I learned that EEOC actively trains people to find ways to turn good business practices into 'discrimination'. EEOC creates more 'discrimination' than it actually finds. I would never let an employee go to one of these workshops, even a personnel manager. EEOC is a subversive organization.

Go re-read your own post. I'm betting it has to do with a hands on owner.

Being a chickfila owner isn't as hard as people think. Your religion doesn't matter. The location is the hard part. They wont let you open one within a certain distance of another. That distance depends on each market. For example, they denied a guy to open one in denham springs because of the one on millerville.

It's more about your personal values. You have to disclose your personal involvement in your community and church, marital status, how many dependents you have.

They often interview people in your family, including your kids, if you want to be a franchise owner. One out of every three franchise owners also attends a specific Christian retreat that Chick Fil A promotes.

Bottom line, you're not operating a location unless you're a God-fearing person with no questionable lifestyle choices.

Guess I'm gonna operate a Delpits Chicken Shack cause my skeletons would drive a Chick Fil A er to drink.

It's not a franchise as Mcdonald and other companies do. You do not own your store at all. You are paid to operate the store. Chick fil a decides location completely. $5000 investment you can get back if you decide its not for you and your books are in order. You have to apply and be selected to go to training then after training they put you in a under performing store where you have to correct the problems. After that you wait for them to offer you a store in one of the 5 locations you would be willing to move as stated in the initial application. You can wait for years and maybe forever without reasons for not getting a store.

IOW, the Chik-Fil-A owner thinks HE's gawd, and you're to tithe, toil, and worship him.
