I would like to try this.

I live in southeast Louisiana. Northshore of the lake.

Where can I do this and what pointers do you have?

Cook that shite down until the moisture is gone, add butter, shallots, garlic or what have you. Sauté until edges are crispy then eat that shite….I prefer over a good steak

In MO but...they come up this time of year after a good soaking rain. They come up on the ground, NOT logs. They have gills that are not true gills, like they are melted. The poisonous jack-o-lantern has real gills and grows on logs. I think it is also more orange. If you find one chanterelle, you'll find a hundred. Unlike morels.

You have a couple of different options if you want to store them long term.

Pickled
Confit
Powder
and my personal favorite, Conserve.
