Agree. Unless you just want to spend a lot more and get the ones from Williams Sonoma.

If you aren't trying to impress and just want something that works then get a Lodge.

Will last just as long and you can't tell a difference.

If you are worried about rough surfaces buy $5 in multi-grit sandpaper and spend 10 minutes rubbing it before the initial cure.

Since I switched to an induction cooktop i'm switching to mostly cast iron. I bought this exact one a month ago and have already used both pieces quite a bit.

Yeah I’m just trying to decide if I need the larger capacity. I have larger ones already but one is stainless and one is Teflon coated. I’d probably end up using the cast iron exclusively since that is my preference. The bonus skillet as the lid is great.

Lodge, then take a random orbit sander with 60 grit and sand the inside bottom and sides smooth, then hit with 120 grit, it will be very smooth, season a couple times and it’ll be nearly non stick

How many people you plan on cooking for? Lodge only makes an 8.5 qt pot. If you want a number 10 or 12 you will have look somewhere else.
