Cast iron griddle/grill or grill pan? What would Count OR GEAUXT do?

i'm looking to either buy the lodge grill/griddle combo or the grill pan. i like that i can cover the grill pan easier (to avoid splatter) but the griddle/grill has excellent reviews on amazon and i want to feel like a bad-arse working over some eggs & bacon.
my gas range i bought has the big long 5th burner in the center so i should have fairly even heat distribution on the big one.
however, i have no ventilation to speak of; just the little aluminum trays under the mounted microwave.

Count would go with B. Way less splatter and mess.

I have a grill pan and love it.
I have a gril/griddle combo in our wedding registry so I may have both at some point soon.

ALRIGHT smartasses. i bought them both becuase i couldnt freaking make up my mind.
i figured the grill/pan can be used as my chicken roaster in the oven so that solves that problem too.
i am thrilled about this freaking stove. too bad i'm going to probably suck at cooking on it and all this fancy shmancy cast iron will be for naught
eta also bought a cast iron MEAT PRESS for my bacoooooon and egg rings! i am going to be a bad-arse short-order cook by the time i'm done.

Go back to the store and buy a real roasting pan for your new gas oven.

what do you recommend? there are so many different types that i was a bit overwhelmed. i like the grill pan because i can use it for steaks (with a lid) easier than pulling the griddle/grill out..which i'll use for breakfast or when i have company.

as long as you have plenty of storage room, buy all the toys you can, while you still can...

Get one that is stainless, non-stick, has handles on the end for grasping and a vee shaped roasting rack that keeps the object off of the surface by about two inches, this allow you to place water underneath it and make great au jus while cooking. The non-stick comes into play when making lasagna.
