Can't miss spots in Boston

I'll be in Boston a few times. What are some can't miss eats while I'm up there? I plan on hitting up Chinatown for some dim sum. I hit a couple Italian spots while I was in North End that were good. Give a coonass some tips here if you got them
Thanks!
Thanks!

Don't listen to Saskwatch. That thread sucks.
FYI - that thread is still mostly relevant but in need of some updates. If you have specific things you're looking for, please feel free to ask and hopefully I (or someone else) can help. But the TB thread should be a decent starting point.
Are you just looking for typical New England fare? Upscale stuff? Hole in the wall places? Something convenient to where you're staying?

Listen to Abita! That thread can kick rocks now!
I am not of much help but I have a great time every time in Beantown.
Bopped around Seaport for a day last time and had fun.

I'm going to confess...I still don't know why they call it "Beantown." I've never bothered googling it.

I’m pretty sure it’s a reference to the Sunday baked beans that was traditional for the area.
Italian food and cannolis at Mike’s on Hanover St. I also really enjoyed the museums on Harvard campus.

When I was in college we used to get the pot roast lunch. It was good and I think it was $00.95...good cheap lunch. Now that was a looong time ago...early 70's.

Harvard Natural History museum is great.
The Isabella Stewart Gardner museum is my favorite in town. Home of the biggest art heist in history! It's so cool.
OP, where are you staying and what are you thinking you want to eat/drink?

Yeah, you can't buy a stick of gum in Boston for 95 cents nowadays.
I don't know what it was like in the 70s, but today it's just a tourist trap.

Im jumping in too. Going in May and looking for off the beaten path restaurants. Wife likes cold water seafood(clams, lobsters, etc). I eat anything. Going to hit a Red Sox game. Other than that, looking for stuff to do.
Thanks Abita. Saved your rec's.

Someone else started a thread on the Travel Board earlier this week and is also going to a Sox game in May. Could run into each other.
I'll tell you what I told him - check the forecast and pack accordingly. It can still be chilly here in May, and it is especially cold sitting on the metal seats in the shade at Fenway (and worse at night).
I'd recommend eating at Eastern Standard before or after the game. It's a very short walk from there to the ballpark and it's a great spot. There's also a new Trillium brewery near Fenway as well.
The Boston thread on the Travel Board should give you a lot of options, but for seafood (in no particular order):
Row 34
Neptune Oyster Bar
B&G Oysters
Saltie Girl
Island Creek Oyster Bar
Eventide (also next to Fenway)

Actually had the best sushi I’ve ever had randomly in Boston at Crudo.
Got the tasting menu and everything was great, went in the spring and they had all the sliding windows open so it was all open air, 3 story building.

Bring cash in the north end no cc

Well that’s just not true. There are a handful of places like Mikes Pastries that are cash only, but most places accept credit cards.
Also OP, speaking of Mikes Pastries, don’t go there. Tourist trap. Go to Bova instead.
