you food snobs should really get off the high horse.
Nothing food snobish about it. Ketchup + Mayo + seasonings, while good isn't THAT good. I've been mixing ketchup + mayo + seasoning salt since before Cane's was in business (so have thousands to millions of people I am sure) and I never thought I had one of the great condiments of all time on my hands. It's good, but anyone that is drawn to it like crack needs to get out more.

I love how all you guys go crazy for cane's sauce.
It is just ketchup, mayo, worcestershire sauce and tonys.
All the crap sauce in the world can't make those bland chicken tenders taste good.
Only 6 post to get to the first cane's bashing.
I think that might be a record.

I think the point was that any substance, especially sauces, can be broken down to some basic ingredients. Barbecue sauce, for example -- entire shelves in a grocery store are devoted to this masterful combination of tomatoes, onions, sugar and spices. It's so very basic, yet it is so popular.
So, why hate on Cane's for developing a sauce that people love (and yes, people love it)?

While enjoying the honey mustard, I always thought it was kinda watery.

Um, if people tried to talk up BBQ sauce made from two other non house-made condiments, I would call them out on it too.
No condiment made from two other non homemade condiments is going to be THAT good, and after having plenty of Cane's sauce in my life, I can safely say it conforms to that rule. It is what it is, an OK condiment mixture. And as for Cane's "developing" it, anything that mixes Mayo and Ketchup as its main basis, was not "developed" after 1980.

I think Cane's is decent but I rarely eat it these days. Maybe once a year the last 4 years or so.
That being said, I think their honey mustard sauce is decent. Seems like they might put a hint of horseradish in there.
I prefer it to the regular cane's sauce. That shite is fattening enough without a heavy mayo based sauce. I feel like I need to take a bath after I eat that stuff.

Interesting theory.
Dumb as shite, but still interesting.

? I am not putting forth a "theory," even a "dumb as shite" one. I am saying that people were mixing mayo and ketchup long before Cane's was put together, so saying they "developed" their sauce is to give them too much credit in wording. That is like saying someone developed a new sauce mixing mustard, relish, and seasonings, even though such combinations have been around for decades. Glad to hear you found the non existent theory interesting though.
