Nope, no sarcasm at all. You started this talking about doing shots, remember. I'm damn sure not shooting cuervo, and anything above patron is too delicious/expensive to just down in 2 seconds. Plus, most bars have it, which makes ordering easy.

If we're talking about sipping on the beach in Mexico, or making the GOAT margarita, well, then, that's a whole other discussion.

ETA: I'm also disappointed at the lack of truly shitty margarita recipes here. I had another Archer gif all lined up ready to go.

Jimador and Camarena have less bite and are much cheaper IMO. They are my go-to if I have to shoot tequila but some places make so much off Patron that a shot of Herradura silver is pretty reasonable.

First you get all your ingredients out.
A glass, chilled.
Fresh lime, cut and juiced.
Thick ice cubes.
Patron Silver or better tequila.
Cointreau/Triple Sec, whichever you have on hand.
A large shaker.

I typically use 1.5 to 2 oz of Tequila, 1 oz of Cointreau, juice of a whole lime, and toss it all in the shaker. Strain it into the chilled glass. You can add 3-5 cubes if on the rocks is a must.

Then hand it to the woman and pour yourself a bourbon.

I don't drink tequila outside of the occasional margarita, so what would be a good tequila specifically for margaritas?

I have been toying with and found a "healthy" margarita that I actually really enjoy. It's not sweet at all, which I enjoy.

4 tbs Tequila
2 tbs Water
2 tbs Light Agave Nectar
2 Limes, juiced

This version seems to come out to my taste:

1.5 oz Blanco or reposado Have been using Milagro lately

1.5 oz agave nectar

0.75 oz squeezed lime juice

0.75 oz squeezed orange juice

0.5 oz Cointreau or Grand Marnier

Shaken with ice, strained into glass

Frozen margarita guy here--
Half canister Bacardi concentrate limeade in the blender
1.5 cups tequila
3/4 cup triple sec
Fill with ice
Good splash of orange juice
Turn the ninja on and let it go

I drink the entire pitcher and then ask my wife why I feel drunk...
