You are not gonna find good calimari in that shite city of Baton Rouge fwiw... Closest place would be Biloxi

being that raw squid literally starts to decompose in hours, finding fresh squid is extremely difficult.
also, squid freezes very well.
and yes, i will order it every time and some of the best i've had was at the pelican club in new orleans. it had an asian flare to it and it was incredible.

I'm in this camp. I never order it. Usually, I find more interesting apps. Perhaps, I've never had good fried calamari.

Bonefish does a fairly solid calamari. So can Carrabas at times.

Same.
Best I had was on fisherman's wharf in SF, but it still was just a chewy onion ring to me.

Try it at DiGulios (sp?) They do a good job with it.

Usually not a huge fan of it, but last Friday took my girlfriend to Eddie V's in Houston and got some calamari for an appetizer. It was AMAZING!!! It was served in a bowl with rice noodles and those asian peppers, with a little spicy sauce. DAMN IT WAS GOOD!!
