I've only been here 1 time and really enjoyed it. But that's me.

My primary problem with the restaurant is that their food just wasn't very good. The price of the fish was outrageous considering the quality of the dish, but balance that with the cannelloni @ $14 and the app @ $12 and that's not a big deal to me .. but it still didn't taste good.

Your review doesn't imply that everything was "shitty" or that it deserves 1 star on Yelp so Im guessing the price turned you off.

I was pointing out how on Yelp the reviews are very polar .. either really positive or really negative, and that if I had to choose between those two extremes I'd pick the negative side.

It was your first time there and you got a cannelloni. Perhaps there is more to the place.

My first time at Vincent's I got the cannelloni and loved it. Yes there could be more to the place, but they didn't do a good enough job on my first visit of convincing me to give them another shot.

I have only been there probably about ten times but I have never left not happy. In fact I always enjoyed myself.

Likewise.

Don't think I've ever had a bad dish from the place. Service is always good and the atmosphere is pleasant.

everybody has their likes and dislikes.

seems like this board is similar to Yelp to some degree .. people either like it a lot of would never go back. perhaps the kitchen is inconsistent?

That may be your style of Itlian food. I saw the pics and heard his review and I understand it. If you're used to and enjoy traditional New Orleans Italian cuisine you will probably like the place.

That cuisine can be enjoyed at many restaurants here in town. I suspect several other places do it better.

Ah, how very asteistic of you, gent.

Are you going to disown R2R because he indulged in a <gasp>.. cannelloni? He may never be allowed to show his face in Domenica again!

No, when you try a restaurant for the first time you have to order something. I looked at the menu and probably would have ordered the same thing. Cannelloni can be delicous, and is at several restaurants in town and in my kitchen. Evidently R2R didn't care for Cafe Gio's version, and from the pictures I understand why.

Look at the menu, it's fairly basic and uninspiring. That's the reason I've never been and probably why R2R hadn't been before. If it was really good, more people would go regularly.

R2R, can't order cavatelli with rabbit if they don't serve it.
