Does anyone know of a place in Baton Rouge that sells just the flat? I typically buy the whole brisket from Costco and just roll with it. I would like to smoke just a flat sometimes but I don’t recall seeing any.

I've bought the flat in Albertsons before, but it's not something I was looking for this week.

The cost of just the flat, you might be better off buying the whole packer and splitting it. Vacuum seal the point to use for something else another time.

About 7-8 years ago calandros would do it but the last time I asked they wouldn’t do it. I’ll ask Rouse’s next time I’m there. Thanks.

Rouses in Zachary routinely has just the flats out in the cooler. I prefer the entire packer brisket myself. Winn Dixie has some brisket flats out this week too which was new since I’ve been checking for the past half year or so. The one in Z never had any brisket out. Not sure if that was a thanksgiving deal or not.

Calandro’s will usually have some flats in the 4 lb range. Great for when you are just cooking for a few.
