I bet you’re in BTR. I think there’s an issue with the liquor distribution locally

Extremely hard to find in BR. Had to find some in Oklahoma a few months ago on work trip. Almost no one had it in OKC either.

So how’d that conversation go exactly then?

It went something like this:

"Do you have any other good bourbons you keep behind the counter?"
"We have Buffalo Trace"
"That's a good one. How much are you selling it for?"
"$65"
"That's a really high mark-up. No thanks."

So stores sell at cost? Seems like a bad idea.

Well there's selling at cost, selling for a profit, and gouging. Selling what should be about a $35 bottle for $65 seems like gouging to me.

They changed distributors at the beginning of the year things have taken a little time to start getting back to normal distribution.

I just started seeing it in large numbers here, even at Chevrons.

I long for the days about 5 years ago when BT was 19.99 at Costco, and 21.99 - 23.99 everywhere else.

Pretty sure that's what I have been paying. I may stop, as I just don't know that 8 year Charter is all that better than 8 season Charter.
