Buffalo Trace is not elitist at all. It’s a quality bourbon at a very reasonable price point.....if you can find it.

That’s the thing. It is a quality bourbon at a good price but it should not be hard to find, but it is.

It’s not like it’s one of the high end allocated bourbons. I’m pretty sure it’s released year round but you’d never know that looking in the shelves.

It flies off the shelf in Colorado Springs as fast as it’s out in the shelf

Evan Williams bottled-in-bond (white label) punches well above its price point at $29/handle

I picked some up recently to use in mixed drinks. I tried it neat and was pleasantly surprised. I kinda hate mixing it now. Lol.

Our Kroger gets a lot, but it's gone fast. I bought all three bottles last time I saw it.

The problem is the state controls distribution. Any mom and pop liquor store had to buy from ABC. Restaurants have to buy from ABC. If ABC isn't ordering enough, it is hard for anywhere else in the state to get it. I've seen it at the ABC nearest my house, and a few others, but it isn't as well stocked as Makers, Old Forester, Jim Beam etc.

I never drank much. Would have a drink here or there. During the "2 weeks to flatten the curve" and "essential employees only" last year, i was at home with my wife and 2 toddlers. My neighbor is a huge whiskey/ bourbon guy. We were having drink on the patio every night. From that point on, i keep a couple of bottles of buffalo trace at the house for old fashioneds. All that said, i'm sure i'm one of many who have picked up this new habit.. if you will. didn't know i was contributing to a shortage.
