We are heading to Brennan's for first time for dinner. I feel like it is just somewhere I need to try out. Any recommendations or advice would be most appreciated.

I am not a big dessert guy but I assume we will get the bananas foster

Same here.

I think Slade has done a fantastic job reviving Brennan's on the menu side (the renovation and service are outstanding in their own right). Some menu highlights for me have been: Octopus in creole sauce, sweetbreads over truffled grits, bbq lobster, roasted duck, etc...

Its really a totally different restaurant as far as food quality as it was 5-10 years ago.

That is what I have been hearing and reading so I figured I would check it out.

Filet Stanley is quite possibly my favorite entree, anywhere.

It really is an outstanding restaurant these days. Those sweetbreads with the grits are amazing.

The GULF SHRIMP & GREEN TOMATO SALAD is also a really good appetizer.

The REDFISH AMANDINE is a classic.
The "SHRIMP & GRITS" is odd.
The NIGELLA SEARED TUNA is really good.

All of the deserts are awesome. The BANANAS FOSTER is a classic, but the PRALINE LEIDENHEIMER BREAD PUDDING and PONCHATOULA STRAWBERRY CRÊPES FITZGERALD are also outstanding. I am also dying to try the BAKED ALASKA
