For the record this girl is a complete moron for posting the receipt for the world to see. She should be fired and hopefully she was.

I would fire her asap and talk to all of my staff about a few things as well.

I tip on go orders. The amount depends on the size of the order and whether I asked for anything out of the ordinary. I always tip the kid taking my groceries to the car and I tip at least 5 bucks unless they do a really crappy job in which case I give 3 bucks. During the holidays, I give 10 bucks. There's one guy I always give $20 bucks to at least once during Christmas. He knows to keep my cold stuff together and load those bags into the ice chest I keep in my car and never fails to put certain things in certain places. Always remembers and is always friendly and he talks LSU football with me. As you said, Mr. Balls, it doesn't hurt me, but it surely helps them.

The Drew Brees saga is BS.

Brees is generous with his time and money.

And he could of tipped her $100k had he really wanted, but chose to tip what he wanted to - or thought it was worth.

Im not judging, just saying.

Very nice of you to do all these nice things, but according to some, even if you can afford it - you shouldnt.

About the response I would have expected.

"I don't care if your freaking Oprah. Tipping a lot on any order, especially take out, purely because you are rich shouldn't be socially required. If they want to then sure but just because someone is well off doesn't mean they should give you any more than you deserve/worked for. You can really tell who the bottom-feeders are in threads like these"

Better? How does the context change it? Enlighten us reading comprehension guru.

I said it shouldn't be socially required...

I then said If you want to then sure... I even said I do it from time to time in a later post...

I then said just because he is well of doesn't mean he should be req'd to give you more than you deserve...

I then said the bottom feeders comment. Now what would lead you to believe that I was calling the generous tippers bottom-feeders, instead of the people who expect him to do this every time purely based off of his financial situation?

Nothing. That's the point. What makes your latter category of people "bottom feeders."

Read Choc's post right above here. He said it succinctly and well.

Has anyone specifically said he SHOULD have left more simply bc he is a millionaire? My point was never that it was drew brees he is a bajillionaire he needs to leave more, it was that a $74 order IN MY OPINION deserves more than a $3 tip. I dont care if it is drew frickin brees, oprah, or homeless joe.

At this point we are just arguing personal opinions of which their is no right or wrong answer.

ETA I cant tell you that you are wrong for not leaving a tip on a $75 to go order, either you think they don't deserve it or that they do

I think at the minimum I would have rounded that bill to $80. I think more than likely I would have left between $7-10. Seriously, $75 is a ton of chinese food

A lot of work went into that.

ETA Actually I 100% would have left more than that, I left $5 on a $30 takeout from an italian place last week.

And how much work did the person that actually had contact with Brees contribute to that order? 2% maybe?

It was takeout. WTF are you talking about? 0$ tip is justifiable.
