The Library RB. Damn, I can almost still taste it 30 years later.

And the German place that used to be down the hill on Main Street and then moved to Laurel Street. Run by the ill-tempered German guy with one eye.

Oh, crap! Now this will bug the hell outta me trying to remember it...used to stay open late; you could talk him in to fixing you something if you showed up before he left.

I'm wanting to say The Rathskeller, but maybe that was someplace else? Or something with 'three", like 'Three Coins'?

...The Art Bar,...

Used to play there all the time. Don't remember having any food. Guy had family money and they bought him a bar to run while he was an LSU student (there's a novel way to pay for your kid's tuiton!). He closed it when he graduated. Now he's selling $700 designer purses, restoring old S La buildings, and has Onezia's in Gonzales- Mike Oneziem.

1st, there was a semi-fast food restaraunt on Florida about parallel with Independence park. Sold Arby's style Roast Beef sandwiches (but better quality) and some really awesome apple turnovers. 80's?

Was that a "Roy Roger's"?

At the Library on Chimes, what was the Library Special and what was the Joe's Special?

The Joe's special was like a roast beef/ muffuletta hybrid; don't remember the Library special's insides, but it was muffuletta bun something.

Nice screen name.

There was, indeed, a seafood joint there for a while.

It had a couple of different names.

I said the art bar because the op mentioned bars. I knew the owner as well, was in the fraternity with him. I actually saw the article about his bags, they sell them in a couple if locations up here.
