Boston Eats: Near Children's Hospital (The Inn @ Longwood)

Heading there Saturday-Tuesday. Where's some good walking distance spots near there. Wife, myself, and 3 year old. Preferably ones with very tasty beer and whiskey selections.

That’s a tough spot for walking distance, but Time Out Market isn’t too far away in Fenway and there’s a Trillium location right there.
I’m guessing if you’re staying by Childrens and Brigham you’re not there for vacation, so please ask any questions you have on things to do or places to eat and drink. I’m happy to help.

We are going to Children's specifically but it's just because my daughter (with Down Syndrome) has an eye issue. Her eye "floats" which needs to be fixed and this Dr up here is pretty much the one. On a scale of Dr's for this it's him then wayyyyyyyyyyy below is the next person. They think it's preventing her from walking, having a head tilt, amongst other stuff. It could be WAY worse so if we are just dealing with a little eye issue being seen by the best, we are good. This is our second trip. First time, they said she was too young. Said to come back when she's 3. So we're going back. I'm hoping but not holding my breathe that we get there, he says she's ready, and then says let's do while ya'll are up here. Highly doubtful but one can hope.
Sports wise there's so much going on. Really hoping Bruins advance. Never been to an NHL game. Never been to Fenway and they are at home. Last time we went we went to a Celtics game which turned out to be the last game pre covid shutdowns. The next game that was scheduled to started after that game got called as the teams were warming up. So kinda cool I guess.

Is Time Out basically a mini version of Faneuil Hall?

No not at all. Faneuil Hall is a terrible tourist trap. Time Out Market is a large indoor space where a lot of restaurants around the city have a space and offer a handful of options of their normal menu. You can eat really well there.

While the north end is great, it’s not close to him at all. And Regina’s isn’t even close to “tops” there. It’s fine.

Boloco - it’s a good place to grab a quick sandwich but it’s also nothing special

Sweet Cheeks - I’ll say this, for Boston it’s a good bbq spot. I emphasize “for Boston”
MIDA - might be my favorite restaurant in Boston. Don’t miss this place. If they have the short rib lasagna, get it
Eventide - the Portland location is better but great seafood. Get the brown butter lobster roll
Time Out Market - I mentioned this place earlier. Great way to eat a lot of Boston food in one spot. Go to trillium next door after or before for a beer
