Driving in a week to gatlinburg for a trip. When traveling we like to stop at places to eat that we don't have here in NOLA.

Saw Bojangles is in Alabama. Would be passing some around breakfast time on way there and lunchtime on way back.

Is it any good? Worth a stop?

Ehh, it won't kill you, but in the non-NOLA, semi-AL-local / regional chain fast-food department there are better choices. Assuming you'll be coming through Birmingham, try a Sneaky Pete's or Jack's. Both are HQ'd here in BHM.

If you *really* want unique BHM low-fi / hi-taste food, then get yourself to a meat-and-three, the King of all being Niki's West.

Drive safe, and enjoy the Hell that is the 20/59-65 junction.

Good call, another BHM chain. And I've had their new Thick Burger... not bad at all.

Thanks for the Recs. Anywhere you can recommend for breakfast? Local regional places.

I think all of the above do breakfast. I'm a fan of three places:

1) Wayne Salem's in Homewood. Covered in SEC / Alabama memorabilia. Wear some LSU gear and you'll get a boisterous "Geaux Tigers" from Wayne, along with some football chat.

2) Sneaky Pete's in Mountain Brook. Simple breakfast served on a plastic tray, in the middle of the most expensive / snooty town in Alabama. Full of cops and folks who know better.

3) Bogue's in Southside. Used to really be cop-central, but they were moved to a fancy new building after locals complained about the original one being razed. Get the cinnamon biscuits.

It would be the last fast food place I’d stop at.

I’m not picky at all but I really dislike Bo’s

For a fast food chain, Bo's has the best hashbrowns and biscuits around. Well, except for Chick-fil-a. But no one competes with them anyway.

I love Bo's for breakfast. Lunch/Dinner? Not so much.

I had it while in Apex, NC back in May. It’s not that bad, but it’s not that good either.
