I assume it’s same as head on, but don’t want to screw it up. I can’t get head on shrimp where I am. They are not fully peeled. Can anyone confirm?

When we are in Navarre, we always boil head off because that's what they more commonly have at the seafood market. No problem at all. Don't over season because it's going to suck up more than usual, and don't overcook because it will cook faster. Like, bring water to a boil, dump in the shrimp, bring it back to a boil and then cut and soak until done.

Just keep an eye on it and you'll be fine

So basically no different than head-on shrimp.

Most of the time I see people boil head on, they usually keep them at a boil for about a minute, but if you don’t, sure

White shrimp are in season. There should be no issue with peeling and no need for any crazy boiling methods

NO! If you boil shrimp without the head they turn to rat poison and will kill if ingested.

In fairness, my wife generally cooks them, so I could be slightly off. Though however they are, they aren’t overcooked

I’ve been using this method all summer, so its success is not limited to just white shrimp. These from last night (using my Swamp Bucket). That cold water shock pulls the meat right away from the shell.

Why don't you just boil a few and try them. Once you get it right then use that method when you cook for a group.

It is basically the same, just a bit less time to boil, and same taste. Seasoning is the same but it will soak up quicker and could be a bit spicier, which is fine.

Yep, the answer isn't to just cut the fire, soak, and done.

Cut the fire, dump in ice to bring the temp down, then soak and done.
