Was going to boil some shrimp on the stove just for myself. Only about a pound. How much and what seasoning do you use and technique. Thanks!

You doing corn/ potatoes or anything? If not, you can get crazy with the crab boil. Shrimp don't take up a lot of spice. I don't measure, just add until it's really spicy then add a little more. Bring water to a boil with a head of garlic and a couple lemons, add your shrimp and cut the fire. Start testing about 8 minutes in a pull when they're peeling perfect. Pour in a colander and dump a bunch of ice on em.

Usually it'll say how much on the bag of seasoning on how many lbs the whole bag seasons, or will say by the pound. Just go by that and scale down.

As far as technique, I'll let others contribute. I just remember that shrimp soak up seasoning much faster than crawfish so start tasting much sooner, like 5-10 min after you cut the heat for the soak.

Up here? We use Old Bay. I like to put it on after I boil the shrimp. I find I don't need to use as much.

Gallon of water, 2TBL salt, 2TBL Liquid... that will get them flavored, and more I'd you want them more spicy.

I use equal parts zatarains liquid boil and Old Bay. Dark beer, some halved lemons, couple bay leafs and some hot sauce. Bring water to boil, throw in shrimp and cook until firm. Cut fire and toss in ice to stop the cooking process. Enjoy.
