Boiled Crawfish: Do You Eat them Cold?

Growing up a coonass, I would never consider eating boiled crawfish more than an hour or so after they were boiled.
Went to LSU, and met a New Orleans gal who ate them after they had been refrigerated, which shocked me. It still strikes me as odd, although NOLA people seem to do it all the time.
What does the OT say: Is it trashy to eat crawfish from the icebox? Is this a regional issue?

I did it late Saturday night. I prefer right out of the pot, but there's nothing wrong with eating them later.

Not at all, used to do it all the time

Just microwave them (stolen from the food and drink board, looks disgusting)
But I love cold boiled crawfish the day after a boil

Hot, warm or cold, I’ll eat them.

I've never heard of this phenomenon before.

You mean eating them cold, or having a problem with eating them cold?

I will eat them in a hole
I will eat them from a bowl
I will eat them from a pan
I will eat them, Sam I am

Sure. Cold crawfish is better than no crawfish. 99 percent of the time they don’t make it that far though.

I prefer them freshly boiled of course, but there's nothing wrong with eating a few cold later

I picked up 5 lbs the other day and couldn't eat them all. Peeled the extras (about 25 tails) and put them in the fridge. The next day I ate them straight out the tupperware container. It was delicious and awesome to have that much meat without having to peel them.

I've done that to make bisque. That's understandable. But I'm talking about whole, unpeeled crawfish.

We usually boil and eat right out the pot then come back for 2nd and 3rd helpings throughout the day.

I don't understand. Did you forget a 0?

Love em hot. Love em cold. Heck, when cold, the fat comes out easier.

Good point. He must have been feeding a very small child.

I boiled 60 pounds Saturday and we had maybe 3 pounds leftover after we were done. Not enough to make it worth peeling and saving so I stuck them whole in the fridge. We brought them out around midnight after drinking and polished them off.

I usually do my best to at least peel what is left over a few beers after everyone is done eating.
I would just rather dispose of all peelings post boil and be done.
Now, a container of peeled tails out of the fridge the next day, delicious.

My rule is 5 pounds per civilian and 15 pounds per coonass.

I agree. But I see people buying whole, boiled crawfish that have already been refrigerated. That just does not seem right to me.
