Blatt Beer and Table - Dallas, TX

We got a new craft beer/modern american eats place here in Dallas. It's only about a 4 minute drive from my place, so my wife and I went to check it out last night.
The beer list was very good. They have 32 taps, and almost none of them are wasted on generic crap. They have a nice mix of local brews and craft beers from around the country.
The place is really modern and nice and I like the vibe of it. My wife and I were the only people there under 45 years old, but it was a Tuesday at 5 pm. I think they can get a younger crowd in there on nights and weekends. The menu was a mix of classic bar foods like chicken fingers and burgers and german foods like bratwurst with sauerkraut and spatzle. We just picked a few things off the happy hour snack menus, but they have some modern takes on things like Chicken and Waffles if you are looking to have a full meal. Really good food, almost everything is made in house and you can tell. The pretzel bites are a must try.
They said they are going to rotate their taps fairly often so I’m interested to see what beers they can bring in, but they had a really good list to start with. I had a Deschutes Fresh Squeezed IPA, Breckenridge Vanilla Porter (nitro), and Rogue Hazelnut Brown Nectar.
The service was definitely off, but they are brand new so they could just be working out the kinks. For example, they had a happy hour menu and the waitress never mentioned it until my wife brought it up. I also saw on the way out they have “Texas Tuesdays” where beer brewed in Texas is half off. Never mentioned that either. It would be nice to know what specials they are running. They were a little bit slow in noticing we needed another drink or we had finished our food. Just little things like that. I think in about a month they should have that worked out.
Overall, I really like the place. It’s less than a mile away from our apartment and has awesome craft beer on tap, so they'll get to know me. The happy hour pricing was really good too. We had 6 drinks and enough food for 2 people to eat for dinner for $68 with tax and tip. I’ll probably stop in there to see what new beers they have every 2 weeks or so.

They need to get some new beer glasses.

And you need a new shtick. The know-nothing know-it-all a-hole is old.

Cry about it, Nancy. I'll post what I want to.
A craft beer place should really have more than just nonic pint glasses for every beer. Just my opinion.

I was kind of surprised they only had pint glasses as well, but its not like it makes that big of a difference.

Looks like a pretty basic Craft beer list. But since it's close to your house I guess that helps. And by modern I guess you mean like a chain....cuz that's what it is.

They are definitely trying to be a chain, but this is their first location outside of Omaha as far as I know.
While the beer list is certainly not as good as say, Meddlesome Moth, it's far from basic. Really the only 3 generic beers on their list are Guiness, PBR, and Shiner. Maybe that's only impressive to a guy from Baton Rouge
. I know you can get the local beers at most places in town, but that was my first time drinking all three of the beers I posted.

Well they do have vegetarian currywurst. I may have to trek up there and check it out.
