So, my brother is having a shindig for my upcoming birthday festivities. He has a lovely property and is going to be providing all the fixings for omelettes. He pretty much told me I could have whatever I want and everyone has offered to bring something. Im just drawing a blank of what will be easy and delicious for guests to bring (besides drinks. i know what booze i want)

Grillades and grits or shrimp and grits.

Homemade biscuits, REAL butter and mayhaw jelly.

A good french toast casserole with a sauce sort of like bread pudding or bread pudding.

Those would be some of my choices, though.

Also a selection of juices; apple, orange, grapefruit, tomato, jug of milk, thermos of coffee, cream and sweeteners.. just ideas for delegating. ;)

One person should bring something light to cleanse the palate. Brunch types meals are generally on the heavy side with many one note flavors. Maybe a mixed fruit/berry salad either tossed with yogurt and citus zest and juice. Or mixed berry with balsamic vinegar and an herb, like basil.

I think that's a darn fine idea! I would.

You can have some fruit as Glass suggested. I wouldn't eat it because I'd need room for the good stuff, myself, but it's definitely a good idea for a balance. Actually, for me, a watermelon, tomato and onion salad with some fresh basil and light balsamic vinaigrette would be my "fresh" component. It's a little sweet and a little savory.

Something needs to be a palate cleanser for me. I love all that has been mentioned, but there has to a break from time to time.
