Honestly, that's why I grill boudin...the snap and the flavor. Just never wanted it from the store that way, but I'll try some.

Did it involve actual running?

Negative. It is bus-load of guys hitting up all of the reputable boudin joints in this area in one day via bus, and making critical analysis of all boudin samplings.

How much beer was consumed? I'd be up for that kind of day.

Boy, been better than a decade since I'veheard mention of that event. Never made the ride, but a friend of a friend was doing it back in the '90's.

It's a shame NuNu's doesn't get mentioned in these threads. We did a side by side with Best Stop and NuNu's won hands down

A few comments.

1. Where does one sign up for the next boudin bus ride?

2. Never had bourques. Probably will be my next out of the way stop.

3. Billys regular is better than their smoked IMO but obviously to each his own. I have tried both.

4. The balls are better for travel but the straight up links are better flavor for me.

5. Get that cheese shite out of my boudin ;)

I've been on the peace tour. Usually the weekend before mardi gras. Funniest thing I ever heard was the boudin from Rowena's described as tasting like a chinaman ate a lot of rice and shat in a condom

Yes, there meaningful and comedic commentary about each boudin, such as rice-to-meat ratio, texture,............and finally "girth.".

The original guys were having trouble fitting in their coveralls 10 years ago

By the time you hit Fred's the smell on the bus was almost unbearable! No open flames!

You just have to ask around.
It started as a semi-private outing in the 80's by a core group of about 8-10 rauble-rousing guys, attorneys among them, and it grew and grew over the years until it got too big.
When I did it in 2002. (?), it had grown to 4 or 5 greyhound buses full of guys and beer, and it just got out of control, because it was too many guys in the young-20s age group, and there was a fight at Fred's in Mamou.
The next year, the core group of guys scaled it way down and basically stopped talking about it to quell interest.

Entirely too much beer. Starts at 8 am. You'd fit right in, but leave your soccer talk at home.
