I have a frozen venison shoulder roast that I want to defrost and cook this week. Does anyone have any good, relatively low effort, recipes for cooking it on the stove top or in the oven?

Cut it up and make sausage, front shoulders are very tough

But if you want to cook it go low and slow, I would season it well (use some meat tenderizer)put in a Dutch oven , cover with chopped onions, bell peppers, mushrooms and garlic, maybe an envelope of onion soup and some beef broth, cover and put in 200 degree oven overnight

Trim the fascia, season well with salt, black and red pepper. In a roaster, pop it into a 450 degree oven for 20 minutes, turning at 10 minutes. Pull and add enough beef stock to get 2" deep. Add a few cups of chopped onion and some garlic. Cover tight and roast at 275 for two hours. Pull and add some cubed potatoes, carrots and diced celery. Roast an hour more, adjust seasonings and enjoy.
