I'm just getting into smoking meat and such.

I see people praising Loki, fireboard and Meater.

Any of y'all using these or something else?

Need help making a decision. Would like something with at least 4 probes.

I used to do remote thermos and such. Too much bullshite for me.

Thermopen is all I use now. Put a brisket on last night and went to bed, When I woke up, I checked it. All fine.

Used thermopen hourly to check until ready.

Why too much BS if you don't mind me asking? Are they unreliable or is it pointless?

Thermopen is hard to beat for a quick read. As far as one with probes, I’ve been looking at this one LINK. Made by the same company and has great reviews

ETA: I’ve been using an iHome one for several years, and I’m waiting on it to die. It’s a PITA

Someone posted a Tenergy Solis Digital 6 probe Meat Thermometer that was on sale here maybe 2 months ago. It was on sale from $60 to $39.99 and a lot of people scooped one. I have already done a few cooks with it and I absolutely love the app. Gets fantastic Bluetooth range from the base outside too.

They work fine, but I just don't need it and don't want to have one more thing to deal with when I'm ready to smoke. There was a time when I obsessed about the temps, vents, etc. Now I prefer to set it and forget it.

I live my iWeber smart thermometer. It makes cooking pretty much idiot proof.

I like my Thermoworks Smoke a lot. Only 2 probes though. Very accurate. Also have the wireless gateway for it. Love it.

I have the iGrill 2. It handles 4 probes. Not as accurate though.

I use 2 types, a Maverick remote, works well, good range, durable, I've had it for years, and a Thermapen Lollipop. The Lollipop takes about 1 second longer than the $100 version for about $20.

The problem with the Maverick and all of the remotes is that you leave the probe in and it transmits heat to the meat around it, I've noticed readings as much as 10 degrees higher than the surrounding meat. So once the temp gets close I rely on the Lollipop.
