I already know that the drive to Abbeville is the correct answer but was hoping I might be missing something new or improved in Lafayette.

Restaurant or you’re looking to buy some to cook at home?

Don’s Seafood Hut on Johnston Street is pretty good. Sometimes they’re pretty small though.

Shucks is severely overrated. Dons is the most consistent usually.. vestal has a great selection but pretty expensive/not a place I’d go for just oysters

Uncle T's is the hidden gem in South Louisiana.

Dragos for the win. With an ice cold Budweiser

Dragos has good oysters but I have no idea how they keep the doors open. Every time I go there’s never more than a handful of people there.

Drago's has no personality. It is one big arse loud room. The oysters are good though.

Don's Hut always gets the best of the supply.

I’d image they are hemorrhaging money.

No kidding in that. Recall Toucans. Nicknamed “two cans” after how much gas the owner used to burn it down and collect insurance. All Rumor I’m sure. Great area though as Zea is nearby and does well. And Dragos is good too. Just bright.
