Champagnes in the oil center, rouses, and Albertsons on ambassador all have prime also

Fresh Market used to not carry prime, guess they recently started

Fresh Market is simply out of my price range for what you get.

At times you can find USDA Prime beef there on sale.

Albertsons on ambassador

The produce section is better at Albertson's on Ambassador, than it is at Whole Foods. fwiw Nice store.

There are two Albertsons on Ambassador, one near Congress and one near Kaliste Saloom. I shop at the Kaliste Saloom one and with the latest remodel, the produce section has been expanded. It's nice.

With regards to NuNu's steaks ... I don't usually shop there because it's not convenient, but I did buy some steaks there last week that were very nice. Filets, tender and tasty. And I posted it in the dinner thread:

You grilled the okra too? Never tried that,

Steak looks awesome.

BTW, how are those clear, glass door knobs working out?

The Albertson's I was talking about is the one near Congress. Much nicer and cleaner than any Albertson's in BR.

This is a recent development in Lafayette. They just remodeled a bunch of their stores here. I frequent the one in Broussard the most, but will it up the one at Kaliste Saloom when I am heading to the lake.

You are right Darla. The filets at Nunu’s are pretty good. I personally think one could get away with select for filets it in a pinch due to the low fat content of tenderloin. Nunu’s is the only place I have seen select tenderloin. However, the rest of their steak is not very good in my opinion.

Also, that tomato on your plate looks very good. I would eat it like an apple.

I worked the door at Scandals on the 90s. That was a meat market. But if you want beef, then I say Costco.

Actually, the okra was roasted in the oven. I think I like it better sliced and sauteed in a skillet. I have more control over how it comes out, but crispy and with some caramelization is the goal.

Still love the crystal door knobs, although the one in the powder room is kind of wonky and twice guests have found themselves locked in. My husband has posted a little sign telling people how to get out. (After his brother texted him from the bathroom, "Help!")

Good to know.

I bought two kinds of tomatoes at Fresh Pickins last weekend. One said "Creole tomatoes, homegrown." The others just said, "Homegrown tomatoes." I think they were lying about the Creoles, they aren't anything special, but the others, some of which are pictured above, were really good.

You'd think I'd try to grow my own, but I haven't.

I think my tomato plants are sterile. So, that was from fresh pickens?

Albertsons on Kaliste Saloom has pissed me off twice recently. Got there at about 7:15 on Memorial Day weekend to get some filets and the meat market told me they had already put all the meat away and cleaned up. Wtf?
Last Saturday the shelf sticker said Powerade was 10 for $5. Sticker said the sale was good til Tuesday, so I loaded up 10. Checkout girl said the sale ended the day before.
Plus, a lot of the things they advertise as “bonus buy”, is still higher than rouses or super 1.
