You might be thinking of Serop's.

Zorbas is coming back to Baton Rouge sometime early next year. I talked to one of the family members who own it and she said they are looking for a place near Perkins Rowe.

does anyone remember where zorbra's was loacted before perkins location
that was their only location that I am aware of
Zorba's first place was on Bluebonnet in that little strip behind BWW. I think Nino's is in the space now. They built the new place on Perkins and moved there. They reopened briefly in Laurel Lea after leaving Perkins.

May you die a horrible death if you are getting my hopes up for nothing.
Zorba's was my husband & my favorite restaurant before they closed, then after kids when they opened briefly in Laurel Lea, we'd order take-out and pretend like we were still able to eat out like normal people.

It's true. They should be open by next summer.

try the fried cheese at albasha
It's Haloumi cheese. My favorite appetizer at Greek/Lebanese restaurants in BR.
Best appetizer ever...love the way it squeaks when you bite into it.

Serops Express: on Jefferson, best Mousaka and moujadra and stuffed squash.
Albasha: off corporate, best hummus and Lamb shank and fried cheese.
Serops: on Corporate, has the best stuffed cabbage and Kibbi
Arzis: on Government, has best chicken and grecian sauce
Romans: on Government, best stuffed grape leaves

Albasba on Sherwood easily the best in the city. La Shish in Denham is good as well, but a little over priced. I've heard good things about Kamals in Gonzales. I need to try it.
Also I recently picked up some Hollomi cheese at Whole Foods and made fried cheese at the house. Came out exactly like you taste in restaurants.
